About Sue Nelson

Sue Nelson Toronto born and educated from grade school to university, Sue's interests, at that time, leaned toward raising a family and being an active participant in sports. A 5 year sojourn in Europe, in the 1960's, bought exposure to art in all it's forms and a new interest began to emerge. On her return to Toronto, many years later, an artist friend and teacher convinced Sue to take up watercolour painting, which she did, after retiring from the work force in the mid 1990's. Sue is enjoying her painting experience, experimenting with different media - watercolours, acrylics, ink, coloured pencil and more recently with water soluble oils. Attending many workshops with well known artists has helped to improve her knowledge and skills in the different media.
Sue continues to be an active member in many art groups, which include The Willowdale Group of Artists, Don Valley Art Club, Quest Art Group in Midland, North York Visual Artists, Scarborough Arts Council and she is a Signature Member of the Toronto Watercolour Society. She has entered and exhibited in many of their juried shows.
Her work has shown in the Todmorden Mills Gallery, Heintzman House Invitational Show, Georgina Arts Centre, Etobicoke Civic Centre, North York Civic Centre, Sunnybrook Hospital, McKay Gallery in Unionville, North York Visual Artists Studio Tours, Thera Gallery, Hollander Gallery,Yorkville, St Marks Prebyterian Church, Wagner Rosenbaum Gallery, Artcures Exhibition, Aurora and Art For All Canada, Metro Hall.
